The read

ADBE's 20-day volatility stands at 2.12% a day, making it livelier than most of the stocks Kinzan tracks (their median is 1.81%).

Measured against ADBE's own volatility rather than anyone else's, a −1.2σ reading is the kind it has roughly once a week.

It sits near the bottom of its 24-hour range of 263.66–269.48, measured on hourly closes.

The New York block (13:00–22:00 UTC) did most of the work — roughly 66% of the movement over the last 24 hours.

Over the last 60 sessions of daily returns, it has moved most closely with CRM (+0.66, a strong relationship), and most inversely to ASML (−0.49).

Its last close is at the 65th percentile of its own last 82 sessions, and its 20-day volatility at the 6th, near the bottom of its range for the period.

Market read: Adobe is facing sustained selling pressure, with the New York session confirming a breakdown toward daily lows.

Each figure against its own last 82 sessions

  1. Close 255.06 65th percentile: above 65% of its previous 81 readings
  2. 20-day volatility 2.12% 6th percentile: above 6% of its previous 66 readings near its low

A percentile is the share of the earlier sessions in the window below today's figure (an equal one counts half), so a new high for the period is the 100th. The window is about four months: high for the season, not for the year, and never a fair value or a forecast.

About Adobe

Revised 2026-10-07

What it is

Adobe makes software for creating and managing content. The digital media business holds two franchises: Creative Cloud, the bundle of applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro used across design, photography, video and publishing; and Document Cloud, built around Acrobat and the PDF format the company created. The digital experience business sells enterprise software for analysing customer behaviour and running marketing campaigns. More than a decade ago Adobe stopped selling boxed licences and moved to subscriptions, turning lumpy upgrade cycles into recurring revenue. It has added its own generative AI models, marketed as trained on content it has the rights to use, and built them into the creative tools.

What drives it

The central question for the shares has been whether generative AI strengthens Adobe’s position or erodes it. The optimistic reading is that AI features raise the value of tools professionals already depend on and justify higher prices; the pessimistic one is that image and video generation from many providers, along with simpler browser-based design tools, lowers the barrier to producing content without Adobe’s software at all. Evidence shows up in recurring-revenue growth, the measure the market has watched most closely, and in signs that AI is being paid for directly. Competition authorities have constrained its strategy before: a large acquisition of a design-software rival was abandoned in the face of regulatory opposition. It buys back shares steadily.

How it trades through the day

Activity concentrates in the US cash session, from 13:30 to 20:00 UTC in summer and from 14:30 to 21:00 UTC in winter. Its fiscal year closes around the end of November, so results come in mid-March, mid-June, mid-September and mid-December, after the close and outside the main reporting clusters. The next-day reaction often turns on full-year guidance and commentary about AI adoption rather than the quarter itself, and it has more than once been negative even after results ahead of expectations.

What it tends to move with

It belongs to the large-cap software group and is a Nasdaq 100 constituent, but it has increasingly traded as one of the names investors treat as at risk from AI rather than a beneficiary, so it has at times diverged from the index on days when AI enthusiasm carries the market higher. Its closest comparisons are other seat-based application vendors.

ADBE: questions

What is the price of Adobe today?

ADBE was quoted at $263.82 as of 21:53 UTC on 23 October 2026, down 2.49% over the previous 24 hours. Prices on Kinzan update every five minutes and may be delayed.

How volatile is ADBE?

Its 20-day volatility — the standard deviation of its last 20 daily returns — is 2.12% as of 21:53 UTC on 23 October 2026. That is the size of move ADBE makes on an ordinary day.

Is today's move in ADBE unusual?

Today's move is −1.2σ — the 24-hour change divided by its own 20-day volatility. That is the kind it has roughly once a week. Readings beyond ±2σ are uncommon for any instrument.

What does ADBE move with?

Over the last 60 sessions of daily returns its closest relationship has been with CRM, at a correlation of +0.66. Correlations change over time and do not imply that one instrument causes the other to move.

When does ADBE move the most?

Over the last 24 hours the New York session (13:00–22:00 UTC) carried about 66% of its movement. Kinzan splits the day into three contiguous UTC blocks — Asia, London and New York — so every hour is counted exactly once.

What is Adobe?

Adobe sells the subscription creative software, including Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro, that much of the design and video industry works in, alongside Acrobat and enterprise marketing tools.
