About the Euro

The euro is managed by the European Central Bank for the countries of the euro area. EUR/USD is the most traded currency pair of all, and the euro also anchors the European crosses and the central-European exotics. Its moves tend to reflect the gap between euro-area and US interest-rate expectations, the region's energy costs and, at times of stress, the spreads between member states' government bonds.
