About the Swiss Franc
The franc has long attracted capital in periods of uncertainty, supported by Switzerland's political stability and current-account surplus. The Swiss National Bank has at times intervened to limit its strength, and the removal of its minimum exchange rate against the euro in 2015 remains one of the largest single-day moves in modern currency markets.
