- Close 284.8 98th percentile: above 98% of its previous 81 readings near its high

A percentile is the share of the earlier sessions in the window below today's figure (an equal one counts half), so a new high for the period is the 100th. The window is about four months: high for the season, not for the year, and never a fair value or a forecast.

About AbbVie
Revised 2026-10-07What it is
AbbVie was separated from Abbott Laboratories in 2013, taking the research-based pharmaceutical business while Abbott kept devices, diagnostics and nutrition. For its first decade the company was defined by Humira, an injectable treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease that was for years the best-selling medicine in the world. Its largest growth products now are Skyrizi and Rinvoq, which treat many of the same immune conditions. The 2020 acquisition of Allergan added an aesthetics business built around Botox and dermal fillers, therapeutic Botox for conditions such as chronic migraine, and more neuroscience medicines. It also has oncology medicines, mainly for blood cancers.
What drives it
The company has lived through the patent cliff that most of its peers still face. Humira lost US exclusivity in 2023 when biosimilar copies launched, and the shares were judged for years on whether the newer immunology drugs could grow fast enough to absorb that loss. With the transition largely behind it, the questions have moved on: how long the successors can keep growing, when their own exclusivity runs out, and what the company buys next to extend the pipeline. Aesthetics behaves differently from the rest of the group. Patients mostly pay for it themselves, so it responds to consumer confidence, including in China, rather than to insurance coverage. US drug-pricing policy, including Medicare price negotiation, affects its older products. The dividend carries Abbott’s long record of annual increases and is a core part of the case for owning it.
How it trades through the day
Results come before the US open and the company usually updates full-year guidance each quarter, so the revision is read as closely as the quarter itself. Trading runs through the US cash session, 13:30 to 20:00 UTC in summer and 14:30 to 21:00 UTC in winter. Acquisitions and clinical setbacks have produced some of its largest single-day moves.
What it tends to move with
In immunology it is compared with Johnson & Johnson, Amgen and Bristol Myers Squibb, and it trades with the large pharmaceutical group and the healthcare sector more broadly. Its aesthetics arm gives it some sensitivity to consumer data that pure drug companies lack, and Galderma, the Swiss aesthetics specialist, offers a read during European hours.
ABBV: questions
What is the price of AbbVie today?
ABBV was quoted at $285.64 as of 21:53 UTC on 23 October 2026, up 0.16% over the previous 24 hours. Prices on Kinzan update every five minutes and may be delayed.
How volatile is ABBV?
Its 20-day volatility — the standard deviation of its last 20 daily returns — is 1.38% as of 21:53 UTC on 23 October 2026. That is the size of move ABBV makes on an ordinary day.
Is today's move in ABBV unusual?
Today's move is +0.1σ — the 24-hour change divided by its own 20-day volatility. That is an entirely ordinary session. Readings beyond ±2σ are uncommon for any instrument.
What does ABBV move with?

What is AbbVie?
AbbVie is a drugmaker spun out of Abbott Laboratories in 2013, centred on immunology and neuroscience medicines and the aesthetics business, including Botox, that it gained with Allergan.
